Draw Lines and Shapes Online

Drag to draw a straight line, rectangle or circle and see its length, angle or size as you go. Hold Shift for perfect 15° angles, squares and circles.

How to draw a straight line online

  1. Select the Line tool above.
  2. Press where the line should start, drag to where it should end, and release.
  3. Read the length (in pixels) and the angle (in degrees) that appear under the canvas while you drag.
  4. Hold Shift to snap the line to 15° steps – ideal for exact horizontals, verticals and 45° diagonals.

Use Undo if you want to redo a line.

Rectangles, squares and circles

Choose Rectangle or Circle / ellipse and drag diagonally. The readout shows the width and height in pixels. Hold Shift while dragging to get a perfect square or a perfect circle.

These measurements are in pixels on screen. This is a drawing tool rather than a CAD or scale-drawing program, so it does not convert to centimetres or inches.

More shapes and editing in the full editor

The full DrawIsland editor goes further. Its shape picker includes rectangle, circle, triangle, line, arrow and star, in outline or filled. Shapes are objects: after drawing you can select them, drag the handles to resize, nudge them with the arrow keys, clone, flip, change the stroke width and add a shadow.

Combine shapes with layers, text and the fill tool, then export as PNG, JPG or PDF. All tools are described in the documentation.
